It’s all about perfect timing! Being at the right place at the right time! Have you heard that advice from successful people before? But how can you ever know when it’s the right place and when it’s the right time ? Most of you know your gifts and talents, and basically you also know your purpose or mission in life, all you need is some platforms to do so, some opportunities, some connections, you need a chance. But let us take a look together at what Solomon’s words (the so called wisest man ever lived), “I returned and saw under the sun that—the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But TIME and CHANCE happen to them all.”
You and I do not particularly need to be faster than others to complete the race of life successfully. We are not required to be stronger than others to be victorious in life, or wiser to make more money, or possess high level of understanding to obtain earthly goods and its endowments. We even do not necessarily have to be highly skilled to have favor with God and with men. Grace is available to us, all (gay, straight, male, female, young, old, paralyzed, educated, uneducated, weak, strong, black, white, poor, rich, punk, hippy etc… whatever you name it) Grace is to all, for all people. It depends entirely on time and chance. Hoouwwh! What a relief, right? Nobody is excluded this unmerited favor (grace), “time and chance”; it happens to us ALL.
Therefore, beloved on this 4th month (April 2013) Newsletter, I would like to share with you how you and your loved ones can depend on unmerited favor (grace) to be found at the right place at the right time by analyzing time and chance. By the end of this Newsletter you should have increased your awareness of time and chance as celestial elements and be able to connect this scripture to the general world around you. You should be able to realize the choice available to you of relying this unmerited favor to make you successful in life by connecting you to the right people. Providing opportunities at the right time for you, positioning you for right happenings and even making you a platform creator for others.
Let us begin first with Einstein’s theories of relativity. Relativity tell us that Space, for example – the room you are sitting in, and time, the minutes that tick away on your watch, are all part of a single physical entity, the SpaceTime Continuum. SpaceTime has four dimensions, roughly corresponding to east-west, north-south, up-down, and past-future. We can move from east to west, north to south, and go up and down. While we are moving in any direction we are always moving from our past to our future – that is basically why space and time are linked, we cannot move through space without moving through time!
Space itself is immanent; it is a platform where any chance is possible. Space and time is this one entity where chances are offered. Chance on the other hand is a separate element to the space-time continuum, yet extremely important because it is a strong force that causes the things to happen. What is also interesting is that, when chance happens within spacetime, there is a reaction that creates a new physical entity of happenings which could be called opportunity or chance&time –others call it luck.
Chance is defined as follows: It is the unknown and unpredictable element in happenings that seems to have no assignable cause. A force assumed to cause events that cannot be foreseen or controlled; often referred to as luck. It is a possibility or probability. It is also favorable set of circumstances; an opportunity.
Chance & Time (Spacetime), is all part of physics really; the understanding of physical science is a gift to us human beings, in a form of an intuitive mind. We use this intuitive mind to solve the mysteries of the universe and to reason. Just like we can ask God to give us “wisdom” as a gift, we can also ask Her to give us the gift of “intuition”.
Elon Musk’s (CEO of SpaceX, Tesla, SolarCity & Paypal) interview on TED this week, he said the exact same thing just slightly differently, he said “there is a good framework for thinking, “it’s called physics” the sort of first principle of reasoning; we need to boil things down to their fundamental truths, and begin reasoning up from there as opposed to reason by analogy, as most of our lives we get through life by reasoning from analogy which essentially means, kind of copying what other people are doing, in slight variations… But when you want to do something new, you have to apply the physics approach; physics is really sort of figuring out new things that are counter intuitive.”
By the way, when you realize that God has already made you righteous; you will know Her, both intimately and intuitively. Being faster, stronger and wiser does not automatically make you a winner in life. No, it is actually being at the right spacetime that causes you to receive your moment of graceful success. And creation, in whom we have time and chance is the only place which can push you at that right spacetime.
In last month’s Newsletter we looked at the word “blessed” and this month we look at the word “success”, in Hebrew success is the word “qarah”. You and I have the qarah every day in the little task we perform. “Then he said, “O Lord God of my master Abraham, please give me success this day, and show kindness to my master Abraham.”” The Lord’s qarah OR positioning for right happenings, helped this servant of Abraham on his mission to find the virtuous woman named Rebekah who became Isaac’s wife. “This is the favor to lead you to be at the right place at the right time!”
Ruth trusted God for favor when she went looking for a field in which to glean “she happened to come to the part of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the family of Elimelech”. Of all the fields in Bethlehem, she happened to end up in Boaz’s field who later married her, and he was a closed relative of Elimelech, her father-in-law. Boaz was her potential kinsman redeemer, someone who could redeem her from her plight as a young, childless widow in a foreign land.
As I was preparing and meditating on this revelation, the Holy Spirit, brought about a “click song” by Mama Africa to heart, I just couldn’t stop singing (“Qongqothwane”), one of her famous songs. So I began to listen and I played this song. The song in itself brought me to a different place. You see, this song is about a journey — and immediately I knew that “Qongqothwane” God— she was singing about God and how God opened the path of her life’s journey. To understand further, I watched a documentary about this legendary woman, Miriam Zenzile Makeba aka Mama Africa. Wow! Extraordinary! As you can just imagine, I was completely soaked-in into this woman’s life, and I began to see her life journey as though it were the journey of light through space, living us behind traces of its map. We are infinite beings, timeless indeed; we get to live on and on even after we have passed on from this life. I began relating to her in many, many ways, and I was grateful to her that she fought for me and yet I never had the honor to meet her. For 31 years she was exiled and suffered tremendously just so that South Africans may have a better life, that the world may be inspired and uplifted by her story and her music. Indeed, I was so encouraged that I wrote a poem, see attached: https://plicc.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/the-poem-grace-doesnt-care-docx.pdf
Follow me as I indicated to you what is meant by this “qarah-moment” being at the right place at the right time for chances to happen in your favor, using the life of Miriam Makeba as an example; so that we can have a more current story other than the ancient story of Ruth from the Bible. (These two women had one thing in common: Ruth and Miriam were both Gentiles, they were both underserving of the citizen’s privileges but grace found them).
Miriam Makeba was born March 4, 1932 and she passed away Nov, 2008; see how her “qarah-moment” launched her globally.
“The Story Of Four Fishermen Called as Disciples”. Jesus entered into Simon Peter’s boat. Simon Peter had already a career — as a fisherman, right? He needed two other things; He needed a “purpose in life” and a “blessed net”. A life of a human being has three main dimensions; it is structured like a triangle. We are also structured in three dimensions as well. See Figure 1, has reference. It is fulfilled as follows –in no particular order;
- This is our talents/our gifts/our skills that we use in our careers paths.
- This could be an idea, this could be your other talent; Our Nets (The Big ‘Qarah-Moment’ Activators)
- Finally your purpose or mission in life is to make the world a better place for the current and the next generation
Simon Peter’s boat; after Jesus got on board the boat and blessed their nets and commanded them to launch again, they were hesitant, since they have toiled without catching anything before. Nonetheless they launched out into the deep and let down their nets for a catch, boy oh boy what happened afterwards? They caught a great number of fish and their net was breaking, such that they even signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them.
The same happened for Mama Africa, she was already a singer (her career) but with little platform to almost no platforms at all. There was just no scope for her as a black entertainer… in 1958 the government passed a law that said: No Africans should perform in any of the city halls. Back in the 50’s South Africa was a country that was governed by the most brutal segregation system the world has ever known, called Apartheid. This system made black people prisoners in their own homeland, restricting where they should go, and dictating how they should live and work.
But Mama Africa had something else as well; she had a purpose in life, her life’s mission, she knew how she intended to make the lives of the current and the future generation better, In her documentary she said, “I was singing about my life, and in South Africa we always sang about what was happening to us—especially the things that hurt us…”. She had a plan to sing about Apartheid until somebody listened and listened enough to take action. All she needed was the third thing “a blessed net.”
She joined the African jazz choir, where film producer Lionel Robinson discovered her. — “Her big Break, Her qarah-moment” (this moment created a blessed net for her) —starring on the film “Come Back Africa”. From that break, the extension of that was she met Harry Belafonte, who further offered her some more platforms, and she gladly accepted them. She was initially honored in Italy for her role in the movie “Come Back Africa”, she then moved to London to join Belafonte, after it was the USA, where she became extremely successful — she was the first African woman to win a Grammy Award. Time and Chance happen to them all, all around the world, no matter where you are geographically. Grace, the unmerited favor awarded her; a blessed net, gave her the talents & gifts (her craft) and also launched her career globally.
Her skills, her wisdom, her understanding, her pace and her strength was not going to launch her around the world; out of that highly segregated, confinement of a country she was born into. She was able to see all South Africans free and she was able to see into the future and she saw South Africa liberated.
Your big ‘qarah-moment’ is just around the corner!
