Delay = Waiting Time
A delay only happens when you await something; which you certainly expect to happen based on an agreement, contract or covenant. You cannot wait unless you have been promised something.
Abraham and Sarah waited a long time for their PROMISED child. Joshua and Caleb waited 40 years to enter the PROMISED land.
Joshua 14:6-14 “… but I wholly followed the Lord my God. So Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the land where your foot has trodden shall be your inheritance and your children’s forever, …the Lord has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the Lord spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old… Now therefore, give me this mountain… And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as an inheritance…”
You can only wait for the inheritance if the inheritance has been promised to you.
What is a DELAY? ;- delay is the act of delaying; inactivity resulting in something being put off until a later time. It is a holdup, disruption, interruption, gap, break – an act of delaying or interrupting the continuity. inactivity. demurrage or forbearance – a delay in enforcing rights or claims or privileges; refraining from acting.
Personally I have witnessed that delays are a common thing when following Jesus: delays begin on the journey to Promised land. After arriving in Promise land, you experience huge delays, that it may often drive you to create your own “Ishmael“. It is not easy to wait for the Promise, we wait by His grace and we receive by grace. Delays do not spell the death to your dreams. The waiting time is the true true testing trying time to know whether we truly are established in grace (believing on the manifestation of His promise) …OR…we are still under the law (believing in our own self-efforts). Waiting time is not at all waisted time, because The Lord preserves us and imparts to us, what we would otherwise not have.
So why does God allow delays to your blessing?
John 11:3-6 “Therefore the sisters sent to Him, saying, “Lord, behold, he whom You LOVE is sick.” When Jesus heard that, He said, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. So, when He heard that he was sick, He stayed TWO more days in the place where He was.”
Jesus loved Martha and her sister & Lazarus. He LOVED them. Father God delays blessings because He loves you, why? So you can learn to believe, that your faith muscles may develop and to be strengthened by Him as you wait upon Him. Children do not develop if you do things for them; also when they want, as they want. Likewise, we get to grow best, only when we learn to wait on God and do not try to do it ourselves.
Psalm 130:6-8 “My soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning—Yes, more than those who watch for the morning.”
So, when people think you should have already have achieved this or that, …tell them your inheritance it’s on it’s way; and inheritances surpass 70 years of gathering and toiling!
